REU Summer Research Focus (SURF): Climate Change, Global Warming, and the Health of Texas Bays and Estuaries

Program Information: 

SURF is a 10-week summer program at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.  SURF begins on June 1, 2010 and ends August 6, 2010.   


Criteria for acceptance include:


    U.S. citizen or permanent resident

    Undergraduate student in summer 2010

    Completion of at least 16 credit hours of undergraduate science

    Cumulative and science GPA of at least 2.5

    Interest in graduate school for science

    Recommendation from a faculty member


Students receive:

    Hands on Research Experience

    Professional Skills Development

    Ethics in Science Training

    Food Stipend & Free Housing

    Field Trips

    Social Activities

    $4,600 Stipend 


  Application deadline is May 7, 2010; students are notified of their status by May 14, 2010.
