The Penn State Department of Chemistry has been designated a Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) site by the National Science Foundation Division of Chemistry.

These summer positions are open to undergraduate students who are majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering etc. and have an interest in energy research in chemistry.

The REU program gives visiting undergraduate students the opportunity to participate in frontier energy research at a major research facility.  Students receive a $4,800 stipend for the 10 week period of the program, in addition to housing in on-campus apartments.
