Join us at VCU for a new Summer Student Program in Microbiology, Infectious Diseases and Public Health Epidemiology. The School of Medicine will offer an integrated series of seminars and workshops that range from local to global issues in infectious diseases. Studies are related to infectious diseases from basic science (pathogenic microbiology) to applied science (epidemiology). Accepted students will be paired with a mentor to conduct research in the areas of: microbiology, clinical research, or epidemiology.

Housing and stipends provided.  The application period opens 15 November and closes 15 March annually.

Apply early, slots are limited!

The program length is 8 weeks and begins on Memorial Day.

  1. Must be a current undergraduate student - Sophomore, Junior or Senior.
  2. Cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.50 or greater.
  3. Must have research experience beyond the classroom.
  4. Participants are responsible for their travel.
